The Gift of Light was a series of light based installations responding to the significance of light in various cultures. It formed part of Melbourne's winter solstice festival at Federation Square, The Light in Winter.

I was involved in the Turkish component of the Gift of Light. I worked with members of Melbourne's Turkish community and the Australian Turkish Cultural Platform to create a work about Turkey's national flower, the tulip.

To help facilitate the creative process, I created a social webspace to allow community members to upload images, ideas and stories about light in Turkish culture.
